Monthly Art and Sketchbook Themes - September 2018
Monthly Sketchbook Prompts: September 2018 Edition!

Here's how they work:
  • At the beginning of each month, depending on the length of the month, three to four Sketchbook prompts will be posted along with the monthly theme.
  • Each week of the month will have an assigned prompt that needs to be completed during it.
  • During that week, completing that prompt will give you an extra $500 for that sketch.
  • The sketch must be completed during its assigned week to count!
  • Those who do all prompts during the month will receive an additional $1,000 on top of other bonuses.

First week will be a little longer, both to even out the month and to make up for slightly late posting! Your prompts for this month are:
  • September 2nd - September 9th: Draw a Pokemon using a tech device! This can be any sort of electronic device!
  • September 10th - September 16th: Draw a fusion of two Pokemon! A great site to use for this or to get ideas is this Pokemon fuser.
  • September 17th - September 23rd: Draw a Pokemon and its favorite food! Your choice on what that food is!
  • September 24th - September 30th: Draw a Pokemon working out!

Get with it! Please clearly mark which of your sketches are for the prompt.

Monthly Art Challenge: September 2018 Edition!

Here's the run-down on how it works. Every month, I'll post a set of themes or parameters to follow. URPG members can make art, using any medium, and if it's posted during that month and fits the theme appropriately, they earn cash in addition to the Pokemon they're trying to capture, regardless if it passes or fails. Curators will also earn a bonus if they curate a piece of artwork in a timely manner.

For now, this is only applicable to artists twice per month as a trial period. If it works out, the limit might be removed. We'll see. Curators receive a bonus for all the art they curate, so long as it's in the correct time frame.
Curators, please address the theme when you curate a piece of work to tell the artist if their art applies to the bonus or not. Artists, please use common sense when fulfilling the themes. The art should incorporate one of the themes in an important/meaningful way to qualify for the bonus.

For example, if the theme is the ocean and an artist only draws one seashell sitting in the corner, this does not count for the theme. This goes for colors too—they should have some meaning and be purposeful, not just be there on a whim or by lucky chance. If desired, artists can type out a short paragraph explaining which themes they went for and why they think it fits that month's parameters.

**Note that the monthly theme only applies to capture attempts and not cash.

However, this bonus does count toward your Legend Tracker for both artists and curators.

For Artists:
  • Simple or Easiest Rank – 2k
  • Medium Rank+ - 5k

For Curators:
  • 1k extra per piece
  • Must be curated before 1 week after the month ends

September Prompts
Genre prompts will be going dormant again for a bit, though they may return in the future.

For many, September marks the sweet, sweet release from the summer heat. Soon, we'll start seeing the leaves turn crisp and drop to the ground! This month's official flower is the Forget-me-not, which inspires our memories theme! Sapphire is the official gem, so the gem or the color associated with it will also fly here! Many harvest seasons also start in September. September is often associated with fire because it was the month of the Roman god Vulcan. Vulcan was the Roman god of fire and the forge. Lastly, the equinox (and the back half of the month being the beginning time gap for Libras) brings about balance for this month's themes!
  • Leaves
  • Sapphire (color or the gem!)
  • Memories
  • Harvest
  • Fire
  • Balance

Feel free to post any art within the month of September including one or more of these things to receive the bonus. If you could, please put a [SEP] tag in the thread name or on the art pieces you want to count for that month. Remember, artists can only get the bonus twice. Once we see how this plays out, it may be adjusted.
Got an idea for next month? Share it in the thread!
