For my first contest, it was definitely a lot of fun! Dragapult and Spiritomb started racing away from the rest of the pack early with Appeal 1st and Appeal 4th Moves. Lugia tried to catch up with a Combo Play, but Tyranitar played the biggest spoiler. An unfortunate Scary Face startled half of Spiritomb's appeal away, effectively handing Dragapult the win after the ghostly dragon also got the sole Crowd Boost of the contest.

High scoring contest.... All boiled down to another spoiler play. Charizard looked like they would be in prime position to win with a Thunder Punch/Fire Punch Combo, but was startled for 4 in the final round by Decidueye. This let Drapion who got to appeal 1st in the final round use a super Aerial Ace to eek out the victory.

Smeargle ran away with the contest from the very beginning, using its wide movepool to its advantage. Gardevoir randomized turn one, which really helped Smeargle and Blissey in particular. Talonflame was untouched with three out of five rounds being Overheat for massive points. Very high scoring contest, but as to be expected with zero startles and high scoring single appeals!

Showcasing the cream of the crop, this was a fun contest to judge. Everyone except Togekiss started off with high scoring appeals to get the ball rolling, while the fairy decided to condition itself. Over time, this proved to help its cause immensely. Smeargle looked to be in control virtually the whole contest, able to utilize high scoring appeals on virtually every turn. Gengar and Clefable started off hot, but Clefable especially whiffed on some copying moves that could've swung it into their favor. At the end of the day, the shiny Smeargle earned this ribbon by a single point.

Interesting contest to say the least. Ferrothorn really couldn't get the ball rolling, having its Hone Claws TOXed R1 and then failing to get 4th going into the final round. Decidueye got one of the two crowd boosts, and tried its best to keep up with scoring. However, Gengar startled a couple times to keep the match close. Finally, a well positioned Thief from Darkrai was enough to give it the win.

This was a contest of mind games. Turn three was amazing, as three of the four competitors used Go Last Moves in the same round. However, Espeon played extra sneaky and willingly took the repeat penalty to go 4th again the final round. This works in its favor, as it snuck through for the win with one heart!

This was a contest of excellent timing. Muk was the beneficiary of the sole CM boost and blowing itself up on the same turn Salamence went for an Outrage in the 4th position. The same Outrage prevented Lucario from getting a share of 1st Place, having to settle for 2nd instead. Darkrai failed to capitalize on the first of its two Thief attempts, which hurt it in the long run.

The contest was decided on a very fortunate CM boost yet again. Scizor fell into the 4th position in Round 4, and the CM started at 3. One Beauty move and two Cool moves gave the Swords Dance the massive boost to seal the contest away for Scizor!

Espeon got the biggest gift in this contest, when it managed to get the 1st position seeding in the Final Round, right after the CM hit 4. Due to this, Espeon & Staraptor ended up with a tie after the bird got startled in the previous round by Tyranitar. The low appeal of the startle ended up costing Tyranitar a spot at the top also. Falinks tried to get the condition game going, but didn't get last position in both the 2nd & 4th rounds (only getting 4th Round 4th).
