There was once nothing but ocean there.

Then one night, the island appeared, rising out of the ocean on a square pillar of rock approximately thirteen miles on a side, located at the intersection of the Prime Meridian and the Equator.

The island's inhabitants called themselves Hybrids, for they were from a world where humans could combine with creatures they called Pokémon. There were a thousand of them on the island, living in small houses arranged near the center of the island. They were told that anyone who landed on the island would become a Hybrid, and so they did not fear that they would be destroyed.

Of course, this was an era when ballistic missiles existed, so when the rest of the world found that nobody they sent to investigate the island came back, they decided to blow it up.

Original post follows.

SCP Gijinka Pokémon Trainer Adventure.

Your name is Elina Millison, and you are 17 years of age. Your designation is 1407, and you are an amateur musician on the internet going by the name of DJ.Wirez.

However, this story is not about your DJ career. Today is the day you are scheduled to receive your first Pokémon and embark on your journey as a Trainer! You are to collect it at Professor Blackwood's laboratory in about twenty minutes.

> 1407: Well, what are you waiting for? Get over there!

You take a slow walk to the Professor's laboratory, and reach it just on time.

As you walk through the door, a man in his early twenties with an exaggerated Received Pronunciation accent greets you, and leads you to a machine with a lot of compartments, and a screen.

The machine asks for your identification, which you provide, and then presents you with a choice between two Pokémon - Gothita and Solosis. Which do you pick?
> 1407: Pick Gothita.

You've always been a fan of humanoid-looking Pokémon. You pick up Gothita's Poké Ball, and the machine retracts the other Poké Ball into its internal workings.

Addendum 1 Dec 2019: This adventure has been discontinued. For further SCP Gijinka writing, please check out... something or other.

Chloe Morikawa-Davison - SCP-1100-JP "CAPTCHA" | Shizuki Shinomiya - SCP-2223 "Spamdexing Anime Images"

Chloe sighed. The train had lost power temporarily, and the technicians wouldn't be around until half an hour later. She was going to be late, she'd miss her chance to get her first Pokémon and start out on her journey as a Trainer for the fourth year running, and she was definitely going to go home disappointed.

"Ya alright there?" asked the girl next to her. She had silver hair and was wearing a green scarf, which was unusual given that it was the middle of summer.

"Yeah, just... gah, I can't believe I'm gonna have to wait for another year just to get my first Pokémon."

"I know that feeling. This is my third year trying to get mine."

"Eh? I thought I was alone in this whole 'not being able to start' thing." Chloe looked genuinely surprised at this revelation.

"Last year I overslept, and the year before that, the train derailed."

"Ah." Chloe turned to look out the window, then turned back to face the silver-haired girl.

"Well, umm... I guess I should introduce myself. I'm Shizuki."

"Name's Chloe. Chloe Davison. Pleased to meet you, Shizuki." Chloe nodded.

"Pleasure." Shizuki paused. "Hmm, didn't the conductor say it would be another ten minutes before the technicians arrived?"

"Ten minutes from now, yes."

"Ah. Well, if they're quick with fixing it, you should be able to make it on time, I think. Which Pokémon did you pick?"

"Fennekin."

"Ah, that's a good choice, I hear."

"Yeah, that's why I haven't settled for anything less the last few-- oh, the train's moving."

"Well, that was quick. Guess we're on time, then!"

Chloe smiled. "I'm getting off at the next stop. See ya!"

"I'm getting off too."

"Oh. Alright then."

The train stopped at [REDACTED] station.

Ciara Chen - SCP-CN-579 "A Half-Finished Game"
Age: 19

A girl with an obsession with finding "glitches in the matrix". Rather unaware of things occurring around her. Very laid-back.

Partner Pokémon: Kasuka the Hattrem

Writing Sample
"Huh? What?"

Kasuka sent a small burst of psychic energy at her trainer, who was about to zone out.

"Gaah! Sorry, what did you say?" she started again.

"I asked if you were here to sign up for today's flash Pokémon tournament."

"Oh, no, no, I'm here to watch," Ciara replied. "I can't really hear very well," she added on quickly.

"Your name, miss?"

"Ciara. Ciara Chen."

"I don't see your name on the list today," the man said after tapping at his tablet a few times.

"Strange. If that's the case, I'll be off, then."

"We do have one or two people who cancelled, though. I'll try to fit you in."

"Oh, thanks."

[Centurion-Space Laboratories, Part 1]

Paws reinforced with metal pads clack against metal-plate flooring.

She lets out a sigh as she sits down in the patch of sunlight streaming in from the bulletproof glass window she'd annoyed her boss into installing in the lab.

"Alright, Hazuki, I know you're there somewhere." Hazuki recognizes the voice as Tsukiko, her Gothitelle boss.

"Yeah, what do ya want, hmm?" she shouts back.

"Stop hiding from me, jeez."

"I'm not hiding from you, I'm just eating sunlight, like Bill Wurtz said leafy cats should. Plus, it's not my fault you're scared of literally any light brighter than a candle."

"Damn, Hazuki, that actually hurt."

"I'm too lazy to fight you physically, so I'll just fight you verbally. Also, if I could dab with these leafy paws, I would right now."

Tsukiko sighs and wonders why she ever hired a meme-obsessed Leafeon to work in a laboratory that needed to be dimly lit. She's then reminded that said meme-obsessed Leafeon came in as a stray, and would have probably caused more trouble overall than she was causing now if Tsukiko hadn't taken her in.

Psychic powers, augmented by her bionic limbs custom-made to fit her exact measurements, resume work on yet another device commissioned by the same eccentric billionaire that commissioned the previous 12 devices. Normally people didn't go to independent-Pokémon-run businesses for any reason, so the fact that anyone with any semblance of riches would commission her was in and of itself an honor for Centurion-Space Laboratories.

In the next room, Reika, a Hatterene whose primary job right now was to work on projects commissioned by the PNN Federation's defense agency, was working on Project NV2, a grenade-like explosive that released psychic mind-destroying energy when it detonated. Reika had graduated from Plughton University, a prestigious, primarily human-run university, and she had her former trainer, who died in a plane crash three years prior to her joining Centurion-Space, to thank for being able to even enroll there.

just let my mind wander and it came up with this. might turn this into an actual story, might not.

Centurion=Space Laboratories - Strictly Confidential
CODENAME: Colorless Idea
Project Brief
To create a semantic complex that can be transmitted psychically by Pokémon with telepathic abilities in order to incapacitate unprepared attackers, and a method of inoculation to said complex such that it can be used safely.
Project Targets
One (1) idea of a semantic complex [hereafter designated Colorless Idea]
680 doses of memetic inoculation agent or a reusable inoculation method that protects against Colorless Idea
Involved Personnel
Alice Shinonome-Howard (Froslass)
Galadrius Soulworker (Espeon)
Hirozuka Mayu (Gardevoir)
Ichinomiya Kurotaro (Gallade)
Morinomiya Hazuki (Leafeon)
Shinonome Reika (Hatterene)
Requisitioned Items
1-247 "Reiuji" Active Alchemical Semantic Fusion Chamber [approved 2049-11-14]
348.22 "Welt" Thaumaturgical Alembic [approved 2049-11-29]
31-45-29 "Zeta" Mathematical Operator Application Device [approved 2049-11-30]
Project Log
2049-12-09: Work has officially started on Codename: Colorless Idea. The crucible has proven incredibly reliable for isolating concepts, but not so much for extracting them from the aspected solution. Hazuki's tail leaf withered after one of them escaped the conceptual cages. She says she's okay, but we insisted that she go down to the botanurgy department and get it sorted out. We haven't used the fusion chamber yet; this is the only one in the company's possession so I hope it doesn't get taken away. - Reika

2049-12-11: We found out what was causing the escaping concepts. Apparently strong psychic fields (in excess of ~6.72 kგ) are enough to make the concepts move fast enough to "tunnel" through walls. Hazuki's tail leaf is recovering fine; my ongoing struggle against my tendency to telekinetically grab things is not. - Reika

2049-12-12: Codename Colorless Idea is coming along well now that we've stopped the concept tunneling. We have 22 possible candidate pairs for conceptual complexes that could reduce to semantic garbage, the most promising of which has a 76.2% chance of reducing to Colorless Idea. If we're lucky, we can get this done by the end of 2050 Q1. - Kurotaro

Reika
I'll get myself some tea. Have you met my daughter yet?

The Hatterene smiles and pours a cup of tea for herself. She's about to pour some into my cup when I stop her.

Haruka

Oh, no, no, no. I don't take well to tea. Something to do with my body's composition. And no, i don't think so.

One thing I've noticed is that unlike human-run companies, there's no concept of nepotism or child labor in Pokémon-run companies. It's not much of a surprise to see entire families working in the same company, especially since most Pokémon don't actually age even when they evolve; the common belief is that starting work at a company early builds employee loyalty. It's a strange concept to me, having grown up as a trained Pokémon rather than an independent, and living in a primarily human society.

Haruka
So, umm... what positions are there for me now?

Reika
Umm... Most of the Grass-types are working in the botanurgy department. You seem to have a knack for numbers, though, so we'll see about putting you on the accounting team.

Haruka
Ah... I'd much prefer the botanurgy, if I were to choose. Much less tiring, given what I've seen.

Reika

Alright then.

I figured it was time to ask the question.

Haruka
So, umm. Are there any other Tsareena working here? Other than me, that is?

Reika
Not that I know of, no.

Haruka
Oh. Well. That's alright, I guess.

Reika sips her tea.

Haruka

Do you happen to know a certain Leafeon by the name of Hazuki? She was bugging me about something the other day at the botanurgy lab.

Reika
Oh, her. She's... a bit too energetic for her own good. That's probably why she didn't realize she was annoying you.

Haruka
I... I didn't know that.

Reika
It's alright. I've got to go now - something came up on one of my projects. I'll see you tomorrow.

Without giving me time to reply, Reika gets up from the table and walks off.

Haruka
See you tomorrow, I guess.

In the corner of the room, a Pikachu is chained to the wall. His arms are made of tungsten-steel, and tattooed onto his belly is the letter S, standing for "soulless". "Save me," he cries, but nobody ever does; he simply slips out of the minds of anyone in the room against his own will, or so he wants you to think.

Right in the center is an altar, the blood and essence of various Pokémon spewing from a hole in the center like a fountain and landing in a deep basin with a drain on the bottom. Inscribed on it are the forms of strange, deformed Unown not matching any known alphabet.

And when the trapdoor in front of the entrance to the room opens, out comes the dark green, radioactive sludge, in which teeth and multicolored pearls are suspended. The sludge is ejected out of the trapdoor in short bursts, and drained at the edges of the room. The pearls melt into more sludge that withers all life around it when touched by a living being.

The Pikachu runs the entire room, of course - his mind is linked to the brain of an Alakazam suspended in a thaumaturgically warded jar, which controls the entire room's appearance. If he wanted, he could unchain himself, or make the room five times larger on one axis, or stop the blood fountain, or redirect the blood in mid-air. Even if he doesn't have any conventional powers, he's still a formidable gatekeeper.

And what is the gate that he guards? Well, that is the gate to another world. His job is to let nobody through. So far, he's succeeded.

just let the words flow on this one. maybe went a little too far with the creepy imagery to the point where it's "ow the edge" but ehhh.
