Form: INTERMEDIATE

You've taken some liberties in simplifying some of Scraggy's features (removing the teeth and eyes for example), but those choices were made to accentuate the idea you're trying to get across of the Pokemon being 'zombified', and it is effective in making the image more 'creepy' to suit that idea. Those posing of it's arms is also interesting and reminiscent of the classic 'raised arm zombie pose' we often see portrayed in modern media of the topic. The perspective on the front-most limb is slightly off, as the arm doesn't do a great job of showing size difference due to distance from the viewer, but the actual posing of the limb to have parts of the anatomy block by other parts (the hand blocking the wrist for example) is done well.

Technique: INTERMEDIATE

You made a very solid use of bracelet / scrumbling shading in this work to help evoke a particular mood; the messiness of the lines really calls back to scratchy old horror films, and you take care to accentuate line weight and tone to help give varying shades. The rest of your line-work is about the same thickness throughout the work where it is visible, which unfortunately makes the Pokemon seem a little flatter than it might have otherwise. Your background is free of any errant marks or blemishes, and is uniform, showing good understanding and control of your marker.

Value: INTERMEDIATE

As mentioned above, your use of scrumbling does a good bit to help with the mood and theme of the work; it helps it feel chaotic with minimal effort, while still providing adequate shading in places it is needed. The shading itself also follows the countours of the Pokemon nicely, making it clear that the light source is in front of and slightly above Scraggy in the direction it's currently shambling in. Highlights aren't really used in this piece, but the contrast between the shading and the rest of the uncolored form of Scraggy also helps feeed into the overall mood of the artwork, so the lack of highlights doesn't detract.

Color: N/A

Narrative: INTERMEDIATE

The classic zombie pose and the absolutely desolate expression of Scraggy's vacant face really sell that it's one of the undead, slowly shambling through the dead of night in search of some brains to much! A little more context for where they're going would help boost this, along with some possible interaction with the scene or the person /creature Scraggy is trying to go after.

Scene: BASIC

The most basic. Normally I'd rank something with a solid color background as not having a scene since floating in a featureless 'void' doesn't do anything to add to narrative or the work as a whole, but in this case it's very clear you've deliberately taken the time to fill the space with black to help set the mood and make the work feel more claustrophobic, dark, and 'creepy'. there's just enough intent in this choice to bump it to BASIC. A more involved background that does a little more to give context and place to Pokemon in a space would be needed to bump this up any higher.

Conclusion: This passes at MEDIUM thanks to your intentional inclusion of the black background to induce a sense or feeling and help accentuate the mood. You may claim $15,000 for this artwork!
