Miki's on her way through the jungle yet again, and this time she's come across a clearing in what she thinks is the center region of the jungle, where the sunlight shines through a gap in the canopy onto a relatively large patch of green grass. She sits down, tail in the shade and head-leaf in the sun, and paws idly at the ground.

Allen has kept quiet for the most part these few days, and he hasn't been taking over at all, which Miki finds slightly strange, but she hasn't really been thinking about it. And she feels a third - possibly fourth - voice slowly making itself slightly less faint, to the point where she's able to make out a couple of words when she hears it.

Eventually she focuses on something more pertinent, however, and that is the fact that she's seen at least a few Pokémon who appeared to be slightly more towards the hostile side. She hasn't actually attacked anything for a while, but now it seems somewhat necessary to defend herself.

She gets up, starts to pace around, and then with a running start hops onto a low-hanging branch, landing near the trunk. At least she's still in good form.

Wade didn't know why exactly he was wandering around the jungle. There was a perfectly good river not far away he had stumbled upon earlier, but he had gotten restless after long and moving around was usually a good cure for that. This is even more so if one's mind is troubled by the fact one has no idea where they are and what brought them there. For that matter, Wade couldn't recall anything clear before waking up on the beach that day.

The duck Pokemon soon found himself beak buried into the underbrush of this jungle as he walked along, if only because sometimes good things could be found randomly on the ground. Unfortunately, the plant life turned out nothing but leaves of various green shades and small branches that would occasionally poke Wade in the face if he weren't careful. Even more curious was the distinct lack of animal life in the bushes. They were quite vacant of any small insects and rodents he expected to see crawling around.

Wade's musings were abruptly stopped by a smart rap on his head sending him face first into the forest floor. With a groan, he stroked the sore spot and rolled over to see a quadruped mammal adorned in plant-like appendages that made the first living thing Wade had seen in a while blend in almost perfectly with the plant life around them if not for its yellow coat giving it the slightest distinction from the branch it perched upon. However, as interesting as that was, Wade wasn't quite the one for conversation and made to return to his expedition.

Miki the Leafeon :: Chlorophyll
This post affects Wade.
Miki's jump seems to have been impeded by a Golduck stepping in. That wasn't a good sign.

"Oh my, I'm so sorry!" Miki apologizes, a look of panic on her face. This Golduck, wasn't he the one who was rather... ready to battle, for fun, of all things? Hopefully he didn't want to beat her up now... Either way, she's not exactly ready for it right now - she's only started training, and she probably wouldn't stand a chance against someone who presumably got into a lot of fights...

"Are you alright? I hope that didn't hurt too much..." Miki trails off, trying to show concern in hopes of de-escalating the situation.

His return to scavenging was brief before the Leafeon interrupted him. However, it was enough time for something to catch his eye. A small scrap, something light brown and speckled in dried mud, was wound into the underbrush and just barely noticeable amongst the foliage thanks to the copious amount of sunlight allowed through by the opening of the canopy above. Wade absentmindedly cut a mark into the tree's trunk with a claw as he turned to face Miki again. "Ain't worth worrying about," he muttered, scratching his head again as he made his way out of the bushes and into the clearing to stretch. "Such is life and fussing 'bout small things makes it pass too much, you know?" The warm sun, now directly on him, sent a relaxing sensation throughout his body that all but drowned out the dull pain thumping in the back of his head and a soft sigh expressed his content.

Miki lowers her guard for a moment, her first impression of the duck Pokémon proven significantly inaccurate, and moves to sit down on her hind legs next to the Golduck.

"Oh, I forgot to introduce myself. My name is Miki. Pleased to meet you," she says. "Erm... what's your name? I... don't think I got your name the last time I saw you." She pauses, then continues on. "Hmm... Would you like to partake in... a little bit of a sparring session?" she asks, trying not to come across as aggressive or anything of the sort. "It's alright if you don't want to... I'm just in need of a bit of practice is all."

Wade continued stretching his limbs loose from the time he had just spent crawling on the ground while the Leafeon approached, but abruptly stopped after she spoke the words, "I... don't think I got your name the last time I saw you." He quickly unwound his awkward pose to face Miki, giving her a good look over as he wondered where he might have seen her before. Before Wade could question the stranger, however, Miki had already taken the conversation well off-topic and onto one that easily distracted him from "fussing" about such a "small thing."

"A battle you're looking for, I got it right here," he answered with an eager grin before leaping a few feet back. He winced upon landing as the wound on his head jolted from the motion and brought on a brief spell of dizziness for the Golduck, blurring the verdant Pokemon in his sights. He shook his head to bring her back into focus and raised a hand, spreading his legs to prepare for combat. "Don' worry none about practice or not, bring everythin' you got. We ain't out for blood, after all. Name's Wade, by the way."

And just like that, Miki finds herself in a fight. She takes a few steps back to create a good amount of clearance between herself and Wade, then readies herself in a battle stance, paws on the ground and tail partially raised, as her opponent does the same.

"Let's go, then!" Miki whips up a flurry of leaves around her body, then sends them flying at Wade in a Magical Leaf attack. She doesn't quite aim the attack at any point on his body in particular, but either way she makes her best attempt to hit him. Then, empowered by the sunlight, she starts to hop left and right erratically, trying to anticipate the Golduck's next attack and dodge it.
miki does have the type advantage, but she's probably not gonna be able to keep up her speed if you cough cough block out the sun cough.

With a merry grin, Wade braced his stance at Miki's declaration. Her stoic posture made it come off bland, but she definitely seemed more sure of herself than she was a few seconds ago. It was a start. And she very well had good reason to be, Wade noted as she summoned a swarm of leaves, each with rather sharp-looking edges maliciously pointing toward the duck Pokemon. With a deafening "whoosh," the projectiles launched by an invisible force from their suspended state around his grass-type adversary. Bathed in the sunlight, their glossy surfaces reflected the full spectrum of the rainbow in an awe-inspiring rain.

But Wade couldn't let himself get too distracted by the show, amusing as it was. He craned his neck back as it was an enveloped in a great warmth, surging through to his mouth. He leaned forward and opened his beak as the force forming from within was released as a narrow stream of boiling water. Wade strained himself to exert more energy in an attempt to widen the stream to match the oncoming assault to little success. The Scald attack cut through the current of leaves, the rising localized humidity causing those within range to sway and fall to the ground harmlessly under the rapidly densifying air.

As his attack came to an end, Wade doubled over, holding himself up on his knees and panting heavily. The remaining survivors of Miki's Miracle Leaf attack drove through, grazing his head, shoulders, and arms as the portion aimed for his body had been stopped by the Scald attack. A sharp pain streaked through the impacted spots, causing Wade to drop to his knees before trying to regain himself.

Between the attack and the persistent bump on the back of his head, his vision was now swirling around him. He could barely make out the dancing Leafeon opposite him but stubbornly pushed himself upright against the throbbing sensation and kicked off from the ground, raising his clawed right hand to prepare a Scratch attack. As the pain slowly numbed, his vision started to come back into focus and he made to close his assault on Miki's head or shoulder.

Miki watches as a blast of boiling water takes out most of her Magical Leaf attack. Wade gets hit by a few leaves, and for a moment Miki feels as if she'd gone a little too far, watching him fall to his knees in pain; she's never seen anyone get this badly hurt since she washed up on this island. She stops bouncing around, distracted by her thoughts...

And then realizes her opponent is charging at her and trying to tear her throat out. She panics, jumps backward, spins, tries to hit him with an Iron Tail, but doesn't quite make it in time - the attack produces a few scratch wounds above her right foreleg. In pain, she yelps, her tail reverting to its leafy form as she loses concentration.

She quickly hops backward and away from her opponent, wincing from the pain as she does so, and pulls off a Bullet Seed technique aimed at Wade, sending seeds - most of them about the size of her fist, though some slightly larger - in his direction.

To Wade's surprise, Miki actually stood still for a bit as he approached but her reverie was snapped quickly as she noticed him stand overhead, dropping his claw down on her. Without hesitation, she lept back, narrowly dodging the strike. Wade's eyes traced her movement as she twirled in midair, her tail beginning to glow behind her. Sunlight flashes off of Miki's tail as its shape appears to sharpen, looking eerily like a sword, as the verdant Pokemon swings her new weapon toward the Golduck. Undaunted, Wade continues his momentum toward Miki and makes to grab her before she can complete her attack. However, she was just out of reach and his grab turned into a second Scratch attack instead, landing true on the Leafeon's right foreleg. Luckily, it appeared to be enough as her focus dwindled on her Iron Tail attack, her tail regaining its former leaf-like qualities.

Her movement didn't stop as she bounced off her landing to get airborne again at an attempt at more distance. Wade follows suit, landed and pushing off of his left foot to keep pace. His vision starts to swirl again with another thump from his head wound. It's brief and focus comes back in time to see the barrage of pellets now flying toward him. He dives headfirst and rolls under the attack as the seeds lodge themselves in the dirt behind him.

The blades of grass on the jungle floor felt particularly sharp against the scratches along Wade's head and shoulders, producing a significant burning sensation as he pushed his palms against the dirt. He straightened his right leg as he came out of the roll and with the push off, sent a kick hurling Miki. The swift jolt of pain caused him to break his motion, however, and instead of aiming toward her upper body as intended, his weak push lowered his trajectory beneath Miki's descend. Determined, Wade curled his stomach in an attempt to thrust his kick upward at Miki's hind legs.
